Registration and Getting Started
How do I register my child?
Visit our registration page to sign up online. You will create an account, select your child's age group and program, and complete payment. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. If you need help, call us at (210) 888-9979.
What age groups do you have?
We serve players from age 3 through 18. Our Junior Premier program covers ages 3-10, Academy is for ages 7-10 (by invitation/evaluation), and our Competitive program serves ages 11-18. There is a spot for every age and skill level.
When does the season start?
Competitive soccer runs year-round. The fall season typically starts in August, and the spring season begins in January. Junior Premier runs in seasonal sessions (fall, spring, and summer). Check our website or contact us for exact dates each year.
Can my child try a practice before committing?
Yes. We encourage families to come out and see what we are about before registering. Contact us to arrange a trial session with the appropriate age group. For competitive teams, this usually happens during tryout periods.
What if my child has never played soccer before?
That is perfectly fine. Our Junior Premier program is designed for beginners. Kids learn the basics in a fun, low-pressure environment. No experience needed. Just bring shin guards, cleats, and a water bottle.
Programs and Teams
What is the difference between Juniors, Academy, and Competitive?
Junior Premier (Ages 3-10): Our recreational program. Focus is on fun, basic skills, and falling in love with the game. One practice per week plus games on weekends. Seasonal commitment.
Academy (Ages 7-10): A step up from Juniors for players showing more ability and interest. More structured training, 2 practices per week, and local league play. Players are evaluated for placement.
Competitive (Ages 11-18): Full club soccer. Teams compete in DPL and other leagues. 3-4 practices per week, tournament travel, and year-round commitment. Tryouts required.
How are teams formed?
Competitive teams are formed through tryouts held each spring (typically May-June). Coaches evaluate players on technical skill, tactical understanding, athleticism, and attitude. Academy players are evaluated and placed by coaching staff. Junior Premier groups are organized by age.
Will my child play with their friends?
We do our best, but team placement is based on ability and development needs first. At the Junior Premier level, we can often accommodate requests to keep friends together. At the competitive level, teams are formed based on tryout performance. The good news: kids make great new friends on their teams quickly.
How many kids are on each team?
Team sizes vary by age group and format. Younger teams (small-sided) typically have 10-12 players. Older competitive teams playing 11v11 usually carry 16-20 players on the roster to ensure everyone gets playing time.
Schedule and Commitment
How many practices per week?
Junior Premier: 1 per week. Academy: 2 per week. Competitive: 3-4 per week. Practices are typically held on weekday evenings, running 60-90 minutes depending on the age group.
Where are practices held?
We train at several locations in NW San Antonio. Your team's specific training location will be communicated by your coach at the start of each season. We do our best to keep locations consistent so families can plan.
How far do we travel for games?
Most league games are in the San Antonio area. Competitive teams also travel to Austin and Corpus Christi for regular league games. Teams in the DPL Lonestar Division may travel to Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and occasionally out of state. Tournaments can be local or require overnight travel.
What does the season schedule look like?
Fall season: August through November. Spring season: January through May. Summer: camps, clinics, and select tournaments. There are breaks around major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break). Competitive teams may also have pre-season training in July.
Costs and Gear
What does registration include?
Registration fees cover coaching, league registration, field usage, insurance, and administrative costs. Tournament entry fees may or may not be included depending on the program level. Check our pricing page for current rates and what is included at each level.
Are there payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible payment plans for all programs. You can pay annually, semi-annually, or monthly. No family should have to stress about paying for soccer in one lump sum.
Is there financial assistance available?
Yes. The Steve Abbott Memorial Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to families who need it. Applications are confidential. 100% of donations go directly to player fees. Learn more on our scholarship page.
What gear does my child need?
All players need cleats, shin guards, a water bottle, and comfortable athletic clothing. A soccer ball is recommended for home practice (size varies by age). Uniforms are included in most program fees. Check with your coach for specific requirements.
