San Antonio has become one of the best youth soccer tournament cities in Texas. Between local clubs, regional showcases, and small-sided summer events, a team here can find a competitive tournament weekend in almost every season — without the four-hour drives to Dallas or Houston. This guide covers the youth soccer tournaments played in and around San Antonio in 2026, what each one offers, and how to choose the right event for your roster.

The San Antonio Tournament Calendar, Season by Season

Fall: Attacking Third Tournament — November 20–22, 2026

The Attacking Third Tournament is San Antonio’s pre-Thanksgiving championship weekend, hosted by Premier Futbol Academy at Alamo Sportplex (7440 FM1560, San Antonio, TX 78254). Boys and girls compete from U7 through U19 in age-appropriate formats — 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 — with round robin group play, bracket play, and a minimum of three games guaranteed for every team. It is open to all clubs and independent teams, with brackets set by competitive level and hotel block rates for traveling squads. Registration closes November 10, 2026, and age groups fill early.

Summer: PFA 3v3 Summer Series — June, July & August

Premier Futbol Academy’s 3v3 Summer Series brings small-sided tournament soccer to San Antonio across three summer weekends. The format is fast, high-touch, and open to all age groups and skill levels — rec players, club players, and independent friend groups alike. The August 1–2 event closes out the 2026 series.

Winter & Spring: The Rest of the San Antonio Calendar

Other recurring tournament weekends in the area round out the year. San Antonio City SC hosts Copa San Antonio each February and Copa Primavera each May, and the Classics Elite Winter Showcase lands in mid-December. Between those and the events above, San Antonio teams can play a genuine tournament calendar without leaving Bexar County.

How to Pick the Right Tournament for Your Team

1. Check the games-guaranteed number

A tournament entry fee buys game minutes. Three games guaranteed is the standard worth insisting on — anything less and a single bracket loss can end your weekend early.

2. Look for bracketing by competitive level

The best tournament weekends come from well-built brackets, not trophies. Events that separate recreational, select, and academy-level teams produce close matches in every division. Blowouts help nobody develop.

3. Match the format to your age group

• U7–U8: 4v4 — maximum touches, no keepers, pure fun
• U9–U10: 7v7 — small fields, build-out lines
• U11–U12: 9v9 — the bridge to full-sided soccer
• U13–U19: 11v11 — full field, full rules

4. Think about the whole weekend, not just the games

One complex beats a multi-site sprawl — especially for families with multiple players. Parking, food vendors, and nearby hotels matter by Sunday. Single-venue events like Attacking Third keep the whole club in one place all weekend.

5. Register before the deadline — not at it

San Antonio tournaments routinely cap age groups, and popular divisions close before the published deadline. If your team wants a specific bracket, register the week the decision is made.
